It has been two months since we launched eziPass, the phone recharge platform for retailers integrated exclusively with our point of sale software. The feedback from our customers is wonderful. While the better commission on some product is welcome, it is the time saving they are enjoying the most. Direct from point of sale they are able to sell mobile phone recharge. This reduces mistakes and makes end of shift balancing easier.

With phone recharging being a slim (and falling) margin business, anything we can do to improve its efficiency is welcome by our retail colleagues.

We have built eziPass and the direct link within our software on a pro-bono basis for newsagents and other retailers. We see no reason to take a clip and thereby reduce what our customers make. For us it’s a practical way of demonstrating our commitment to newsagents.

All this is on my mind this afternoon because of preliminary work we are doing with another supplier keen to use our direct integration facilities.

It’s great to have success stories like eziPass to share – where promises are fulfilled and you can prove that there is such as thing as a free lunch.
